An Avocado Day Keeps The Doctor Away!

In 1932, a great scientist by the name of Dr. Otto Warburg received the Nobel Prize in medicine for discovering the cause of cancer.

In regard to Dr. Otto Warburg's cancer research back in the 30's, 40's, 50's and 60's - there is this paragraph in regard to lactic acid production and cancerous cells which have an acidic pH.

The crux of his (Dr. Otto Warburg) Nobel thesis was that malignant tumors frequently exhibit an increase in anaerobic glycolysis -- a process whereby glucose is used as a fuel by cancer cells with lactic acid as an anaerobic by-product -- compared to normal tissues. The large amount of lactic acid produced by this fermentation of glucose from cancerous cells is then transported to the liver.

This conversion of glucose to lactate generates a lower, more acidic pH in cancerous tissues as well as overall physical fatigue from lactic acid buildup. Thus, larger tumors tend to exhibit a more acidic pH.

The above information on the cause of cancerous tissue is important to understand because of the recent developments as follows:

First, many of you know Shelley and I operate an organic avocado and grapefruit ranch where we have been doing research and developing many new products for health and wellness, using avocados. We recently released several of these products, under our new label, "Young pHorever", including:

Third, an important research development in regard to the glucose controlling properties of Avocado's by inhibiting glucokinase responsible for glycolysis that in turn retards and reduces tumor growth.

Fourth, limiting sugar consumption is not the only line of defense for preventing and reversing cancerous tissue. In fact, a botanical extract of glutathione from the avocado plant is showing promise as a new cancer adjunct. When a purified avocado extract was added to a number of tumor cell lines tested in vitro by researchers in the Department of Biochemistry at Oxford University in Britain, they found it inhibited tumor cell glucose uptake by 25 to 75 percent, and it inhibited the enzyme glucokinase responsible for glycolysis. It also inhibited the growth rate of the cultured tumor cell lines.

The same researchers gave lab animals a 1.7 mg/g body weight dose of the glutathione extract for five days; it reduced tumors by 65 to 79 percent. Based on these studies, there is good reason to believe that avocados and the glutathione extract could help cancer patients by limiting glucose to the tumor cells.

Fifth, avocados, nuts, avocado oil, olive oil make more than just great additions to a meal. Eating dishes containing these fatty foods may ward off overeating by signaling your brain to stop eating when you're full.

Pharmacologists at the University of California, Irvine (UCI) found high-fat foods stimulate production of an appetite-suppressing compound in the small intestine. Oleic acid, an unsaturated fatty acid found in certain foods, stimulates oleoylethanolamide (OEA) production. OEA then reaches nerve endings that tell the brain the body doesn't need any more food.

Researchers hope the new finding will lead to a treatment option for the 30 percent of Americans who are obese. "We are excited to find that OEA activates cell receptors that already have been the focus of successful drug development," Daniele Piomelli, Ph.D., the Louise Turner Arnold Chair in Neurosciences at UCI, was quoted as saying. "This gives us hope for a new class of anti-obesity drugs based on the savvy use of natural appetite-controlling mechanisms."

In previous studies, Dr. Piomelli also found that increasing OEA levels aids in weight loss and lower blood cholesterol and triglyceride levels.

20 Ways To Prevent and/or Reverse An Acidic Cancerous Condition

Avocado Mint Soup

3 T grape seed or olive oil
6 gr onions, sliced
1 clove garlic, crushed
4 T spelt flour
2.5 cups veggie broth
3 t lemon juice
.5 t grated lemon zest
2/3 cu coconut milk
2/3 cu coconut cream (optional)
1.5 mint, chopped
Real Salt or Young pHorever pHlavor salt and pepper, to taste
2 avocados, cubed
1 cu spinach, minced
mint springs for garnish

In a soup pot, warm olive oil. Add onions, garlic and flour. Simmer. Process and stir in remaining ingredients. Add avocado and spinach last. Serve, garnishing with mint springs. The coconut milk produces a creamy, comforting texture!

One of our pH Miracle Fan Club members made a pumpkin recipe last week. She reserved the seeds, salted them with Young pHorever pHlavor Salt (www.phmiracleliving.com)and dried them for snacking. Monday, she made this Avocado Mint Soup. She ate 2 cups right away and took the remaining 2 cups to work, leaving it in the fridge. The coconut milk, which she conveniently took from a can, along with the alkalizing ingredients, probably maintained the avocado chunks' freshness. Wonder how great it is for the cells of our body.

that "negative thoughts" and even chronic depression from

Depression Linked to Bone Loss in Premenopausal
Women Even mild depression can be a cause for bone
thinning, osteoporosis, in premenopausal women.

The findings are from a study funded by the
National Institutes of Mental Health and the
National Institutes of Health. They add considerable
credibility to preliminary studies that show
depression is a risk factor for lower than
average bone mass in younger women.

"Osteoporosis is a silent disease. Too often
the first symptom a clinician sees is when
a patient shows up with a broken bone. Now
we know that depression can serve as a red flag,"
said NIMH Deputy Director Richard Nakamura, PhD.

The study was submitted by Giovanni Ciazza, MD, PhD, MHSc,
Fariheh Eskandari, MD, PhD, MHSc and some of their
colleague at the NIH National Institute of Digestive
Disorders and Kidney Diseases submitted the report.

Study participants were premenopausal women from
21 to 45 years old. 89 were depressed and 44 were
not. Except for depression, all other risk factors
were equal. The women were at a relatively high
socioeconomic status and well nourished. Although
the depressed women were on anti-depressant medication,
the study indicated that was not a factor in
increased bone loss, which was measured using an
X-ray technique called DXA scanning. Severity of
depression was not a factor either.

17% of the depressed women showed thinner bones
in the femoral neck compared with 2% in the
non-depressed group. 20% of the depressed
participants had low bone mass in the lumbar
spine and the lower back as opposed to 9% for
non-depressed women.

Blood and urine samples, taken every hour for
a full day, also showed that the depressed women
had imbalances in immune-system substances
including IL-6 which is known to promote bone
loss. That re-enforced earlier studies with
similar findings.

"Depression generally isn't on clinicians' radar
screen as a major risk factor for osteoporosis,
particularly for premenopausal women," says Cizza.
"And it should be."

Ten Alkaline Tips For Reversing Sinusitis, Headaches, Facial Pain and Fatigue

Home remedies often can reduce problematic acidic sinus symptoms, according to the October issue of Mayo Clinic Women’s HealthSource.

Stage 1 to stage 4 acidic symptoms, including nasal congestion, facial pain, headache and fatigue, are common. Ten Alkaline 'Man' Food and Drink To Prevent Heart Dis-Ease and Cancer

Heart dis-ease due to acidity is the main killer of men over 35, and cancer due to acidity is number two and surging upwards.

According to Dr. Robert O. Eating a few oysters everyday (and real men prefer them raw, right?) provides an abundant supply of the antioxidant mineral zinc, which is used by the body in numerous processes, from cell repair to DNA synthesis.
