All Diets Work: No Diets Work
Have you lost weight in the past only to regain it a short time later? Have you followed every diet including Atkins, South Beach, the Drinking Man's diet, the Peanut Butter diet, or even the Chocolate Diet? All of these diets work, and none of them work, meaning, you can and probably do lose weight on any of them, but you won't keep it off. Why not? Because the day will come when the diet is over and you're right back to your regular routine; the same routine that got you fat in the first place.
In the past diets carried a warning not to stay on them longer than the prescribed period; usually two weeks. Today's popular diets are attempting to style themselves as lifestyle choices, but this isn't working either. People want to be able to eat a sandwich now and then. They want the bun! Strive for balance, and choose the foods you prefer and you'll have a better chance at success.
The main idea with a "weight loss diet plan" is a significant reduction in calories. Very few diet plans even point out that physical activity is a reliable way to lose weight without sacrificing valuable muscle tissue in the process. They don't mention exercise because it's not popular. We equate exercise with gym class and that wasn't fun. People don't want to exercise, and they don't really want to eat differently; they just want to lose weight and they want it done yesterday.
Small Changes: Big Answer to Weight Loss Blues
Here's what I recommend to my clients; this may make sense for you too. Start today, and work one day at a time making one or two small changes such as switching to the calorie-free soft drinks and then weaning yourself down to one or two a day. It doesn't have to be drastic. In fact, trying to make drastic changes in your lifestyle never work because while you may be happy in the beginning, you slowly grow into miserable toward the end. In fact, that's the problem right there: you anticipate an end.
Weight Loss Comes Down to Choices
Talk to people who've lost weight and kept it off and they'll tell you, "There is no end." It's about choices you make every day. Are you choosing to take an extra helping, even though you're comfortably full? Change that one behavior and you're on your way. Do you choose to take the bag of chips to the couch? Change that, in fact, stop eating on the couch entirely, and you're one step closer. Eliminate the habit of grabbing a few bites on your way past the candy dish, and that alone can shave several pounds. I once lost 8 pounds simply by eliminating the candy dish I kept at my desk (not to mention the money I saved).
Choose one small habit or behavior at a time, not your entire existence, and you'll have a much better chance to reach your weight loss goals.

Lose Weight with One Simple Mindset

Diabetes is one of the fastest growing diseases today. One of the things dealing with diabetes is maintaining consistent sugar levels in the blood stream.
No matter if you have diabetes or not, you probably have experienced times in the day when you could just lay down on the couch and take a nap. In many cases, this is not because you are tired, it is because you have elevated your sugar levels in your blood, either by not eating for a period of time or eating to much during a meal. We eat a big lunch, or foods filled with starches and at 2:00 we need a nap.
Here is what else happens when blood sugars are low, we have a don’t care attitude. In other words we make poor choices in what to eat, just to make us feel better. I get a little irritated when my blood sugar levels are low. This is when I could care less about good of bad food.
So a good simple mindset when we get up in the morning is; maintain my sugar levels today. Here are some suggestions:
Put some snacks like nuts in your car incase your energy crashes and burns.
What the portions of foods at each meal.
Eat more of your complex carbohydrates for breakfast.
Increase the amount of protein in your meals.
Eat less rice, breads and pastas at meals.
Try not to allow five hours between grazing.
The fact is you are not burning many calories when your blood sugar levels are low. You will also tend to make poor choices too. Yes, you may have to pre plan your day. Yes, you may have to eat more often during the day. But, in the long run, you will lose more weight if your blood sugar levels are not as if you are riding a rollercoaster.

Weight Loss Problems – Or is it a Self Image Problem?

Some of you will not like what I have to say, even though it is the truth. And that may be where the problem of American’s health problems lies. No one wants to give you the truth. My responsibility as a high profile fitness expert lies not in if you like me, or even if you buy my e books. My responsibility lies in giving you straight talk with no sugar coating it.
You want quick fixes to your health problem that has taken years to develop. You get it by purchasing gimmicks that promise you fast results. You fall for it, and at the end of the day you are more frustrated than every. Why? Because you are denying the root of your problem. Do you have a weight problem of a self image problem? What ever it is you need to get to the bottom of it. Where down the line did you develop the idea that you do not deserve to feel better and look good? How in your life said, “You are not worthy of good health? And when did you by into the notion that someone had a right to take your self esteem away from you. No one has that right, but you do have that choice.
Americas have more of an approach to weight loss and fitness problem rather than a numbers problem. Your weight problems come down to how you fell about yourself. Don’t blame it on this product failing or that person not allowing you to succeed, or even there is no time. None sense!
I have counseled thousands of people over my twenty year tender as a personal trainer, health club consultant and best selling author. And in all my travels, the answers to people’s problems with weight come down to one thing: how you feel about yourself.
My approach with people is, either you pay a price now or you will pay a bigger price down the road. I am really tired of dancing around and trying to pat people on the back and say, “It’s OK you can do it.” When all the while, most I know are in the least bit serious about their health, and have no idea what they are in for down the road.
If you are on the fence of whether or not to start an exercise and weight loss plan, I suggest you either become hot or cold. None of this luke warm stuff. You, America is on the verge of a health crisis. The longer you wait the more of chance you have of having a disease.

The A Factor – The Secret to keeping your weight loss program going!
Twenty years ago, I did not aspect to accomplish what I have in the fitness world. And I surely didn't dream about writing best selling books. Next you ask for directions and support. This may be the make or break it area in your success in getting in better shape. When developing a good support system, there are important things to remember. Here are a few things to mark off your checklist when you are building personal fitness accountability.
What kind of people do you associate with?
***Toxic - Non-supportive, pessimistic, victim mentality.
***Non-Toxic - Encouraging, happy, forward thinkers.
Do you consider yourself to be a prideful person? (Is it hard for you to ask for directions?
***Asking for support is a sin of strength not weakness.
When was the last time you went on a vacation?
***Rewarding yourself for hard work motivates you to push harder and stay focused.
Do you have any honest and authentic people around? you?
***Find a trustworthy friend to help you, with your goals.
Do you have anyone you admire?
***Find someone you can emulate.
Your weight loss, energy levels and general health can start changing today if only you are not afraid to ask for help. Good luck and keep an open mind.

How to Select the Best Diet for You?

In the old West tricksters sold a snake oil to the unsuspecting cowboys. That snake oil was supposed to cure all illnesses. Now in the Internet country it is a miracle diet that promises to bring instant slimness to your body and cure all health problems. They offer those diets as Perfect Body Solution.
Hundreds of diets compete for your attention with enthusiastic claims from its supposed users. Those diets claim to aid those who suffer from colds, flu, allergies, backaches, muscle aches, headaches, and even impaired memory. There is usually no attempt to back those claims with reliable scientific evidence.
How can you know which diets are helpful, and which are variations of the old "snake oil" formula? There are three major approaches used by all diets:
1. Reduce the damage already done. The diets called 'Fat burner' or 'Fat loss accelerator' attempt to break the fat stored in your body and "escort" it out through the normal body waste.
2. Prevent any further damage. The diets called 'Appetite reducers' attempt to decrease your appetite by artificial means in order to prevent any additional weight gains. They also hope that your starved body will use its stored fats to maintain the daily energy requirements and will get thinner in the process.
3. Substitute 'non-fat producing foods' for the high calories offenders. Those diets attempt to educate consumers in the basics of good nutrition. They are effective mainly in the long run, instead of promising instant results.
The worst diets are from the First group - the Fat Burners. They claim to 'Fight the Fat' within your body by influencing the processes of metabolism. They try to increase the metabolic rate of your body in order to burn more calories. Their manufacturers claim that "it will quite literally melt the pounds off you".
They try to convince you that by ingesting a few drops of their potion, you can eat high fat foods, such as chocolate, butter, pizza, hamburgers, and fried chicken, without worrying about putting on weight. Some of them even claim that their diets "prevent the human body from absorbing fat".
The truth must be faced - the only thing that will "melt the pounds off you" is vigorous exercise. The only other effective method for weight loss is exercising restrictions on caloric intake. All other promises are snake oils. The diets, which promise to cause fat loss while sleeping, attempt to exploit our inherent laziness. No one can loose weight by sleeping.
In the best case those diets will do nothing to your body. In the worst case they will mess up your normal metabolism, and might even damage your health in the long run. Some of them increase your blood pressure and stress the circulatory system. You don't want to let those people, who never saw you, to feed you some untested and unapproved medications. Stay away from those types of diets.
The diets from the Second group - 'Appetite reducers' can be effective only in combination with improved nutrition. You need them only if there was something wrong with your appetite in the first place.
We all need balanced nutrition in order to sustain life. If you suddenly curb your appetite, your body will use stored fat for a while, but in the long run you need more than that. You need vitamins, microelements, proteins. If you suddenly stop to eat, you might be damaging your health while improving your figure.
The diets from the Third group, which attempt to change the way you select the foods that you eat, can provide the best solution. They can eliminate the foods with "high-calories" content, while still giving your body everything it needs.
Healthy weight loss is an ongoing project. Learn more about sound nutrition. Don't fall for the promises of "Miracle Diets". They usually don't deliver. There are no shortcuts to better health.

I didn’t have much time to pack my bags that day; matter of fact, I‘m still wearing the same clothes I put on that morning.
I met all three of them on the way up here. They said they would hitch a ride, but they were not sure they would be welcome where I was going.
I thought it was unusual to learn how much they knew about me. Did I meet them at some restaurant my family and I went to? Did I see them at the doctor’s office? I know, maybe it was at a bunko party or the golf course? I just couldn’t put my finger on how I knew them until today.
It’s pretty nice here though—peaceful, always something to do, good conversation. However, I sure miss my family. I wish I didn’t have to leave them soon, but how would I have known?
The three of them said they warned me time and time again. How? When? Where? I wondered. I thought I read all the right books and talked to the right people. I even participated at times.
Lazy was probably the one I got along with the best during that short time we spent together. He was the only transparent one of the three. Others might have thought if they saw us together we were twins. We were so much alike.
The other two were much more reserved and timid. Don’t let those guys fool you. I learned quickly they were stubborn old boys with rough edges—two of the biggest know-it-alls I had ever met. They called themselves Denial and Pride. And if you ever met them, I think you would agree they were named correctly.
As I crossed the line, I will never forget what they said to me as we raised our hands to each other and waved goodbye, “If only you had known.”

How To Lose Weight Using Yoga

Yoga’s power to create a state of mental and physical well being may also be put to good use for taking off excess weight. Yoga promotes a healthy and balanced life style and when combined with a calorie burning program may show exceptional results. Practicing yoga will also increase your metabolism, increasing the calorie burning process, but you should not see it as an immediate results method. By following the rigors imposed by yoga you will gain a holistic, long term solution to balance your life style and keep off any excessive weight. In addition to loosing weight you will also experience an increased ability to concentrate and focus, higher resistance to stress factors and an all round healthier way of living.
Metabolism is regulated by the thyroid, a component of the endocrine system. It is responsible for the chemical processes in your body that transform food into energy. Yoga uses a series of twisting poses that stimulate the work flow of the internal organs, thus boosting metabolism to burn more calories and reduce your body weight. Improved local circulation is another direct effect of using yoga postures and this leads to a healthier, more energetic body. When the calorie intake is lower than the calorie output your body will start burning fat cells to acquire the necessary energy. A perfectly healthy and strong metabolism takes this process even further and you will see better results than traditional weight loss formulas.
Different back bands, combined with forward bends, are used to stimulate metabolism. Poses that affect the neck area, where the thyroid gland is situated, are especially useful is the weight problem is caused by a hormonal imbalance. These poses can be those of the camel, rabbit, plow, bridge and shoulder stand. Moving quickly between a series of poses can accelerate the process. For people who are significantly overweight some of the bends may prove to be a difficult task to accomplish. They should gradually increase the difficulty of the postures until they are confident enough to go to more complex exercises.
Muscles can be strengthened by using standing poses, such as the warrior. A higher endurance and increased caloric output will also result from using standing poses. Energize the body and increase your metabolism even more by using Kapalabhati and Ujjayi Pranayama.
A proper diet should also be followed to support the holistic weight loss system. Try to consume food rich in fiber, vegetables, whole grains and less high fat and processed food items. Balance is essential in all maters concerning your food and no excess should be made. Do not totally eliminate certain food items from your menu and remember that diversity is the key to an equilibrated and satisfactory diet.
A gradual approach is essential with all yoga practices. Results may not be spectacular and immediate, but this is one of the best long term weight loss methods available. In addition to weight loss you also benefit from an increased protection against adverse factors as well as a general feeling of well being and inner peace.
